DAMAGE II - Broken Bloodlines

Artwork: Linas Garsys
Location: Philadelphia, US
Release: Dead By 23 Records, 2003 (out of print)

Robby Redcheeks band. He used to run Dead By 23 records, famous for making dozens of variations of each record he put out! In this interview he explains (among other things) how important the artwork was for the label, another remarkable aspect of DB23.
Bass player Dave Sausage also started his own label few years later, SIX FEET UNDER RECORDS.

DAMAGE began in 2000, a philly sxe raw and to-the-point hardcore group. They released an EP through Deathwish Inc. in 2001 that became very sought afer for awhile, then they got back in 2003 as DAMAGE II for a final 4 song EP entitled "Broken Bloodlines", 5 minutes length no frills that will leave your head bangin' like a bobble head toy.

These are long out of print but its not hard to stumble upon some copies on ebay, discogs, etc.. feel it:

IN CONTROL - The Nard Curse EP's

Location: Oxnard, California
Release: Six Weeks / Rivalry Records, 1999-2004 (out of print)

Second attempt (third time's a charm) to upload these, but this time with more EPs, by one of my fav bands from the early 00's!! From the very first Demo to the last E.P. all gathered here (except the full-lengths)!

The NARD CURSE EP first appeared in 2000 on 7" format released by themselves (Camel Clutch Records) which sold out quite quickly. In the following year, Six Weeks Records did a CD version and added their "Hometown Pride" '99 Demoand finally, in 2009, 6131 Records did the LP versionThese are fast and to the point songs, caught the nardcore scene by storm!

In 2002 came out "Plays The Hits" possibly their rarest release. It's a 7" with 8 cover songs, tribute to the NARDCORE. If you're not familiar with it, heres a chance to get to know the foundations of the nardcore scene, through the bands covered in this EP.

At last, IN CONTROL's farewell release, the "Kayfabe Memories" (aka Yesterday EP) by dormant Rivalry Records back in 2003/2004. Even though these last songs are not as fast,  that full-hearted-hardcore music they were known for, remains. Will be missed.

Now to recap, the IN CONTROL's EPs:

BUS PASS - Demo + EP

Location: Canada
Release: DIY, 2005-2007

Heard about this band on the defunct Good News Records website ages ago.

I guess Bus Pass comes from the same area as Risky Business, Halifax - Nova Scotia and might even been buddies. I came up with this brilliant (and relevant) conclusion through a Risky Biz Demo 7" artwork, where there's a Racoon wearing a Bus Pass t-shirt (wow!). They also played in Risky's last show and were never seen again..

Anyway, two albums were produced, a demo and an EP, 8 tracks total. Their motto was to run over lame people with a bus. Angry stuff, can't miss!

The very anticipated first EP by DISAPPROVAL is out! This is cali-full-force-straight-up-no-BS hardcore.

I might have listened 30x to that "working song":
Hard life, all lies
never had to struggle a day in your life
you put on this act, all for a show
your existence is a fucking joke

Anyway the official download is HERE, props to Soul Search and Arty Straight on View!!

RIPTIDE - Demo II

Location: North Carolina, US
Release: Chain Link Records, 201?

This is actually a reminder, since the label had some internal problems and quite a delay trying to put their tape out in the streets, RIPTIDE's second demo is available for download for free in its entirety.

Riptide is from the same area as Overlooked, but they play more of a LOC sound. Im really digging whats coming out of there!

OVERDOSE - Under Pressure

Location: Atlanta, US
Release: Triple-B Records, 2007
Artwork: Trey Wadsworth

Under Pressure CD is OVERDOSE's 6-song EP plus demo, 9 tracks total.

They played mid-paced intense hardcore with thrashy riffs, a mix of Down To Nothing and No Warning. Their last show happened in 2008 and their drummer (Champ) went on to play in Foundation.

I uploaded their split 7" a while ago, with that, it's everything they've put out.

IN CONTROL - Another Year

Location: Oxnard, California
Release: Indecision Records, 2001

The first LP from one of my all time favourite IN CONTROL, the ones responsible for the Nardcore revival in the 2000's.

They played with infectious energy and aggressiveness yet with the awareness and consciousness that hardcore punk is established upon. Another Year is a 15 tracks album that ranges from melodic to full-on NYHC style breakdowns and mosh anthems that will leave you asking for more!

They disbanded in 2004 and members went to form Annihilation Time and RETALIATE.

UPPERCUT - Tables Turned

Location: Nederland
Release: I Scream Records, 2006 (out of print)

Last album by the dutch Uppercut, 13 tracks of angry old school hardcore packed with breakdowns. All the energy from their previous album "A Luta Continua" plus a better production can be heard on this record.

They were making a similar sound to what other european old school bands were doing at that time, bands like No Turning Back, Nothing Done, Death or Glory and Abusive Action. No further info can be found about them, even their I Scream page has jack squat.

HARDCORE NEWS 5 "Violent Times"

The world is coming to an end (once again), Nostradamus' prophecies are being fulfilled, violence and ignorance stills crawls alongside modern civilization. Most just wont want to see it, but as end-consumers we embrace and support violence and ignorance on what we choose to eat, wear and watch. All justified by our human selfish ways.
This is a post about violent music for violent times. Bang that head that doesn't bang!

After the interview with Louis from Feral Youth I've checked the bands he listed and this is what we came up with, hardcore from the old continent.

Manchester's BROKEN TEETH brand new 3-track-EP out now on Purgatory Records, its undeniably better than their previous EP "The Seeker", feel it:

Also on Purgatory Records, fresh demo full of darkness from BURNT EARTH! FFO: Iron Age and  Deal With It, impressive!

Scotland's sensation WAR CHARGE, one of my favourites right now! Debut EP split release by Spook Records / Demons Run Amok. FFO: Bitter End and Mainstrike.

In case you slept, Undergang put out a debut full-lenght on Monument / Green Meance Records, faster and thrashy as ever. Take a listen at.. the Mother of Armageddon:

After a well received first EP, they are back, german RISK IT! Proving they are here to stay. Full-length out very soon on Farewell Records.

Hailing from Wrexham UK comes SPIRES with a new single that is a blast!! A record is in the process, hope to hear more jams in this very same vibe, good lord:

To close out this Hardcore News, chill out with a nice videoclip done by portuguese outfit SHAPE:
