ALL THINGS OLD SCHOOL AWARDS - The Best Of 2021

Ugly music for an ugly year... yet a very prolific one for many bands despite all the shitstorm pouring non-stop onto our heads through 2021 and that transpires very well in the music you will hear here, a selection of 47 rabid tracks that will drill your ears and melt any old wax that has been stuck for who knows how long!

This edition won't be featured on Spotify, there are too many bozos doing it already there, besides who needs another damn playlist? Back to what's important, this selection features bands hailing from all over (Indonesia, Morocco, Brazil, Russia, Germany, Norway, Spain, Greece, Australia...) with a decent variety concerning the Hardcore Punk and Metal spheres. The highlight goes to The Chisel, Arm's Reach, GAME, Tower 7, Jalang and, once again, DEAD HEAT.

5 YEARS of All Things Old School!! I had part of the tracklist on my mind for awhile but scrapped most of it because, luckily, a good amount of bands and labels joined and made this sampler much more cool. It features premiere tracks plus a few unreleased and rare ones that I've been collecting over the years. Countries represented by bands here goes as far as: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom and USA.

THE OTHERS - Red Eyes

5 months on the wait! That is the amount of time a LP takes to get from Perth (Australia) to São Paulo (Brazil), across the seven seas here's the debut full-length by THE OTHERS!

In 2012 they put out the Sun and Sea EP, perfect 4-song summer jams, a 5 out of 5 score! For Red Eyes they deliver 11 songs Planet Mental style, mid-tempo 2-steps hardcore flavoured with their distinct Perth groove and boosted by a great overall production.

Weird fact, I remember Six Feet Under Records announcing it sometime in 2013 as a future release and what was supposed to be SFU085 became Mother of Mercy I+II, it also has no mention in SFU discography's website or bandcamp. On the other hand, the Perth based label Shaman Records had it for a while so I made my move and ordered one. Unluckily all limited colored vinyl were gone but they handed a free The Others t-shirt as a compensation for the pricey shipping cost, SWEET!

As I waited for my copy to arrive, Deathwish Inc. put some copies for sale in exclusive limited colour (opaque red in cyan blue). Heres the pressing info for this gorgeous gatefold album:

This the tenth News in 3 years and 2 months of blog existence, time flies.

Imagine a dude wearing a medieval armor giving the finger to a highly drugged three-headed monster, the battle of the ages!! Thats the idea behind californian's KID ARMOR, society's ruination.

The never ending force always renewing spirit of Youth Crew shall remain strong and alive for years to come with kids like them around!

Scheduled to hit the streets late May by the always amazing Commitment Records.

Still in the Youth Crew Department, BETTER TIMES (ex-Our Times) from Buffalo just finished recording their second EP  "If Not Us", 2 tracks are up for streaming.. so far so GOOD! It has that Youngblood feel and defintely will be their best music to date.

Aussies from THE OTHERS are cooking a new record, a 2-songs demo tape off their upcoming LP "Red Eyes" were out recently. Physical copies are sold out but digital ones are for free in their bandcamp.

There were 2 bands named after Blind Justice, thats always confusing.  The Indianapolis one changed it to SOCIAL DAMAGE and they have a new Demo coming out, the first one made quite a fuss! Here's why:

From São Paulo, Brazil arises a new surprise INNER SELF and from what I heard more quality bands are about surface soon. Im stoked with their very first work, influenced by B9's old catalogue!!
