IN CONTROL - The Nard Curse EP's

Location: Oxnard, California
Release: Six Weeks / Rivalry Records, 1999-2004 (out of print)

Second attempt (third time's a charm) to upload these, but this time with more EPs, by one of my fav bands from the early 00's!! From the very first Demo to the last E.P. all gathered here (except the full-lengths)!

The NARD CURSE EP first appeared in 2000 on 7" format released by themselves (Camel Clutch Records) which sold out quite quickly. In the following year, Six Weeks Records did a CD version and added their "Hometown Pride" '99 Demoand finally, in 2009, 6131 Records did the LP versionThese are fast and to the point songs, caught the nardcore scene by storm!

In 2002 came out "Plays The Hits" possibly their rarest release. It's a 7" with 8 cover songs, tribute to the NARDCORE. If you're not familiar with it, heres a chance to get to know the foundations of the nardcore scene, through the bands covered in this EP.

At last, IN CONTROL's farewell release, the "Kayfabe Memories" (aka Yesterday EP) by dormant Rivalry Records back in 2003/2004. Even though these last songs are not as fast,  that full-hearted-hardcore music they were known for, remains. Will be missed.

ANCIENT HEADS - Demos Vol. 1 & Vol. 2

Location: Toronto, CA
Release: Blank Stare, 2012 (sold out)
Artwork: Andrew Peden

I was looking up for Mosher's Delight Fanzine on the internet and found out about these dudes. With such a weird name I didnt bother to check at first, until I saw the artwork!! Instantly did some research, as my pal Mr. Big Phil give it a go, here's ANCIENT HEADS.

They've been around for over a year now with 2 demos out, 3 songs each. Blank Stare Hardcore handled their tapes, all goners. Unfortunately this label just closed their operations as of last thursday :(

Ancient Head is actually named after a BEYOND song and with other clear homages to NY youth crew bands in the art you have an idea where they drew their influences from.

RHYTHM TO THE MADNESS - Discography

Location: België
Release: Powered Records, 2007-2011

The first decade of this century was very graceful in Belgium when it comes to old school hardcore. Miss the days when Powered and Complete Control were in full operation. I even visited Belgium in 2009, didnt see any show but talked with some cool people.

Two talented friends got together in 2007 and recorded a 2 songs demo with no big expectations, result is everyone was hooked and they had no choice but to go forth with their project. A mix of Iron Age and Leeway!

So far, RHYTHM TO THE MADNESS recorded the following:

DEMO (Powered Records, 2007)
01 till your well runs dry
02 through the mind's eye

SOUL DOUBT (Powered Records, 2007)
01 Intro Tranquility
02 Soul Doubt
03 Deliverance From Suffering
04 Fire, Fire [MOTÖRHEAD]

WELTSCHMERZ (Powered Records, 2008)
01 law of closure (open graves)
02 time grown old
03 into tranquillity
04 man of unclean lips
05 how our pain endures
06 sleepless evil
07 handle the heights
08 where hope is coldest

VA - STRIVING HIGHER (Six Feet Under Records, 2011)
Challenging The Heavens (Part 1 And 2)

A new EP was scheduled for 2009, but it never happened. Later they appeared in a US-based label compilation with an epic almost 8 minutes song! After a long break they came back in 2012 to play a gig, maybe something new come out, who knows?

For an interesting interview check Mind Over Matter's blog.

BUS PASS - Demo + EP

Location: Canada
Release: DIY, 2005-2007

Heard about this band on the defunct Good News Records website ages ago.

I guess Bus Pass comes from the same area as Risky Business, Halifax - Nova Scotia and might even been buddies. I came up with this brilliant (and relevant) conclusion through a Risky Biz Demo 7" artwork, where there's a Racoon wearing a Bus Pass t-shirt (wow!). They also played in Risky's last show and were never seen again..

Anyway, two albums were produced, a demo and an EP, 8 tracks total. Their motto was to run over lame people with a bus. Angry stuff, can't miss!

Got this in my email few weeks ago, good ol' thrashcore, check it out:

Formed in the Fall of 2012 Rat Path set out to create a sound that would encompass the collective musical tastes of it's members. The result is Rat Path's debut self-released EP "Mean Streets". The band plans to self-release the EP on 7" vinyl in the Spring of '13.

HARDCORE NEWS 8 "blow me down"

I've been following these dudes steps for some time and by now they made quite a name for themselves, Richmond's legitimate sons TOUGH LUCK. After 2 demos and an EP they hit back with another batch of heaviness out now by Solid Bond Records, embarking in the same line as Soul Search did in their last record!

Wrong Idea is a side project by 2 dudes at STEP ASIDE, Arizona youth crew on full effect!
This artwork reminds of a classic one, maybe Brotherhood? Anyway if you liked Right Idea you will definetily like Wrong Idea, HA!
(official download link HERE)

This totally passed under my radar and probably under yours, swedish OUT OF VOGUE new full-length "The Welfare Years" released by themselves, cool as fuck! For fans of CIV, Seein' Red and Dag Nasty.

Still in Sweden, AGENT ATTITUDE also has new songs on the go and they sound snottier than ever!! Time to wear that B'last t-shirt and do some outlaw skating.

CLOBBERIN' TIME's new recordings blew my mind, because this is one of those rare moments where a band from Brazil plays NYHC and its not cheesy! Powerful breakdowns and no frills, just 2 tracks at the moment that I keep listening on and on.

If you haven't heard Six Feet Under Records has a bunch of new records to be released soon: 50 Lions 7", Minus/Warbrain Split and everyones favorite WRITTEN OFF 7":

RIPTIDE - Demo II

Location: North Carolina, US
Release: Chain Link Records, 201?

This is actually a reminder, since the label had some internal problems and quite a delay trying to put their tape out in the streets, RIPTIDE's second demo is available for download for free in its entirety.

Riptide is from the same area as Overlooked, but they play more of a LOC sound. Im really digging whats coming out of there!

OVERDOSE - Under Pressure

Location: Atlanta, US
Release: Triple-B Records, 2007
Artwork: Trey Wadsworth

Under Pressure CD is OVERDOSE's 6-song EP plus demo, 9 tracks total.

They played mid-paced intense hardcore with thrashy riffs, a mix of Down To Nothing and No Warning. Their last show happened in 2008 and their drummer (Champ) went on to play in Foundation.

I uploaded their split 7" a while ago, with that, it's everything they've put out.
