I asked a few questions to Carlos (vocals) about this new project and the Canarias Straight Edge scene:

What was your involvement with hardcore before Identidad and how was the scene in the Tenerife area 10 years ago compared to nowadays (amount of local bands, foreign bands touring by, trends…)? I've been in another Youth Crew band called Pollution since 1999 to 2007 and the hc scene here is very small but very active the last years. There were many bands like Goodfellaz, Frontside, En La Distancia, Wreckage, 466/64, Milk Fiction, Pollution... Actually there are some active bands like The Hollowmen, Bonestorm, Reacción (all Identidad's members playing 80's HC like Abused, SSD, Agnostic Front...), Identidad and others projects without name. In Canary Island there aren't many foreing touring shows, its very expensive to come here, we organize shows for spanish bands the last one was Constrict, it was insane.

Is there any specific reason for choosing to sing in castellanoYes, because is our mother language and we speak english or another language very bad, haha.

The demo will get a physical release? Yes, will be edited in 7" for a new Canary label called 3DB Records and another label called In My Heart Empire. Maybe will be edited in South America, not confirmed.

Name 10 records you’ve been listening a lot lately:
Pure Disgust – Chained
Fury – Kingdom Come
Adventures – Supersonic Home
Violent Reaction – Marching On
Digress – The Seventh Day
Glue – s/t
Whirr – Sway
Bonestorm – Life is poison
Nada Surf - The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy
Concealed Blade – Demo 2015

What can we expect from IDENTIDAD in 2015/2016? I hope some tour, new records and more hardcore!

Please feel free to give shout outs and tips on what to listen from other current local groups. Thanks for your support and I recommend you these local bands: WRECKAGE, BONESTORM, GOOD FELLAZ.
