BLIND JUSTICE / HEAVY CHAINS - Split

Location: Jersey Shore, US
Release: Bad Rep / Mass Movement, 2014

SHORE STYLE on full effect! Both bands here went a step further in their game and bring us a solid record!

The cool cats in BLIND JUSTICE has 2 new burstin' energy tracks, even more mad than those in MischiefThey also started planning their debut full-length for 2015. On the flip side shows HEAVY CHAINS with better writing and recording compared to their well received demo and keeps the flow of the record, charging up the listener to destruct anything ahead!!

TIME CRISIS - Afraid of Death + Demo

Location: Brisbane, Australia
Release: Death's Grip, 2015

Death's Grip, Shaman and Life.Liar.Regret. Records are on the forefront of dope fresh aussie hardcore releases rigth now. In this case, Deaths Grip's latest is TIME CRISIS anticipated debut 7", killer thrash/metallic hardcore from paradise city Brisbane.

Their 2014 Demo was already a bomb, sold out in 2 cassette runs. The new EP sounds heavier and dark as fuck, so much so that a sick band (which is rarely mentioned) came to mind: Palehorse. The title track Afraid Of Death was structured so demonically that it exudes evil out of your ears! Anyways, listen to both records, step on pedal and if it pleases you, get the 7" while you still get a chance! Pressing of: 100 maroon, 200 clear.

SLOPE - Helix

Location: Duisburg, Deutschland
Release: Backbite / Footlose, 2014
Artwork: Jenno Wecker

SLOPE brings a record full of swing and energy! Laid my eyes on this record in Farewell Records' distro last year and jumped onto their bandcamp, my suspicious was confirmed, got stoked!

Helix is completing one year since its digital release and now there are vinyl and tape versions to choose from, both gorgeous looking. If their first album already sounds this good, one can only wonder what is going to come next!

THE NEW ENEMY - Evolve To Destroy EP

Location: Toronto, Canada
Release: DIY, 2014

In their 5th record, THE NEW ENEMY decided to go for another 7" but this time they spent more effort on production/mastering, and it did pay off! Melodic hardcore punk not unlike Shook Ones and The Degenerics

My favorite track is the first one 'Broken Wills' that shows grunge influences, a bit different from previous works. Also, that 88 Fingers Louie cover was dead on [one of the best fast melodic bands from late 90's in my opinion!].

Limited 7" can be purchased in their bandcamp, small run of 200.

SPITTING EARTH - I

Location: Ottawa, Canada
Release: Street Survival, 2015

The canadian in SPITTING EARTH spent 3 years to come up with their debut album and I liked it a lot, but it won't be a 'love at first sight' for most hardcore listeners I'd guess.

They developed a sound that can be tough to describe: Danzig-ish vocals with Smashing Pumkpins mellowness and Twitching Tongues aggressiveness? Hit the play button if you were slightest curious.

Released in 2014 digitally it will receIve a tape version pretty soon by german Street Survival Records.

THE ICE - Touching The Void

Location: Köln, Deutschland
Release: Street Survival / Countdown Recs, 2009

Taking it's name and main influence from fellow countrymen in True Blue, german THE ICE were together from 2007 to 2012 with 2 records out: the MMVII Demo and Touching The Void MLP. In 2011, they headed back to the recording room (for a possible new 7") resulting in 2 new songs: one entitled have hearts (feat. Eddy Sutton) made into HHF's Sampler and the other casting shadows into a Promo Tape sold on their last tour.

In Touching The Void they added slow spacey parts in intros and in between songs with synthesizers which I found pretty damn cool, it helps set them apart from other similar sounding bands, but dont be mistaken the heavy riffs are there. The production here is also outstanding, musically and visually!

In the past, they shared members with Settle The Score and Cheap Thrills, now Christian sing in Look My Way and Mr. Vega plays the synth in this jazzy band.

SEEKERS OF THE TRUTH - 2 Decades Shunning Masks

Location: Lyon, France
Release: Customcore, 2009

Ultra-classic french band collecting 27 years of existence! Already posted SEEKERS OF THE TRUTH's previous EP 'Tinman' in the past and shed a light on their background history. '2 Decades...' released in '09 still remains their latest record but not for long, it seems a new one will surface in 2015.

These fairly sparse time between releases may have accumulated a lot of writing and resulted in one of the lengthiest (if not THE lengthiest) hardcore album ever done, '2 Decades...' gathers 20 songs in 55 minutes! Despite its unappeliang length you will find here some very fine tracks in the vein of early Sick Of All mixed with Vision and a bit of Shelter, singing about positiveness, krishnaism and a drug free lifestyle.

BREAKER BREAKER - San Francisco Straight Edge

Location: California, US
Release: Bridge 9 / Martyr Records, 2001-2002 (out of print)

I used to listen to BREAKER BREAKER a lot back in early 00's, even had a DIY shirt with their logo on it. They were contemporary of similar acts such as American Nightmare and Horror Show, fast charged hardcore with negative lyrics.

After a solid Demo on B9 they recorded a new EP that was supposed to come out in the same label but shortly after they broke up and B9 lost interest. This new material was noticeably better and more tight than the demo songs, Martyr Records couldn't let this go into oblivion and released it as a 6-song MCD in 2002.

Mark Kelley's skilled vocals can also be heard on another short-lived project named Treason. Drummer Ben Kinzie and bass player Jonah Nishihara went to play in Allegiance.
