DOWN AND OUTS - Forgotten Streets

Location: Liverpool, UK
Release: Boss Tuneage / All In Vinyl, 2012

Never posted something THIS melodic before, but I am addicted to DOWN AND OUTS latest record. They play genuine street punk, between Bouncing Souls and The Clash!

Was first introduced to them by deceased Dead & Gone Records in mid 00's, used to buy everything they put out.

Forgotten Streets (3rd full-length) goes a step further into production and music writting, top notch stuff here lads. In their bandcamp you can check/download all their discography for free! Also a new split 7" is on the works, possibly to be released this year.

BLIND JUSTICE - Mischief

Location: New Jersey
Release: Back To Back Records, 2013

Mischief EP is a total blast from start to finish! 6 songs with a Minority Unit feel featuring vocal guests by D.Wood (Down To Nothing) and Ace (Break Away), becoming one of my 2013's top 5 so far!

I must say I was a little skeptic to hear their new material since I got a wrong impression when there were 2 bands named after BLIND JUSTICE, which already pointed out here before, one of them came out as Social Damage.

Back To Back Records is on a striking series of great releases with no signs of stopping, impressive!

THE DISTANCE - Self Titled CD

Location: Connecticut, US
Release: Red Dawn / Takeover, 2003 (out of print)

The DISTANCE was quite known in US during mid-00's but not because of their early days. They changed from a cool CARRY ON styled hardcore to some melodic emo-ish stuff.

Since this blog is about old school, here's their 4-song Demo produced by Dean Baltulonis (Righteous Jams, Guns Up!, Desperate Measures,..) pressed on 7 inch by Takeover Records and later on mini-CD by Red Dawn Records with 2 extra songs (including a Minor Threat cover).

In 2004 they moved to Bridge 9 and put out a nice EP entitled "Your Closest Enemies", not as good as the Demo but still worth to check! Then Think Fast! Records made a compilation with all their 7 inch material on CD under a funny title "If You Lived Here You'd Be Home Already", including this Demo which was the reason I bought a copy.

PS: the singer (Jay Reason) was also the frontman at Voice of Reason during late 90's and they are about to release a discography album pretty soon!

The Useless Song
.
.
Screams... You never breathed
You watched me die DIE!

WORTHLESS TIME!    CHEAPENED LIVES!
Do you remember the day
That you stopped breathing?
